In total, 2629 applications were received for the 2019 J&J OYW Scholarship Program, which this year is offering 12 scholarships to aspiring global young leaders (aged 18-30) working on the front lines of delivering care.
As well as attending the upcoming One Young World Summit in London, UK (October 22-25), the 12 scholar recipients will each receive individual coaching from senior Johnson & Johnson leaders throughout the six-month program to further develop their aspiration, strategy and/or initiatives. They will also be buddied with 2019 J&J delegates, participating in the program, to co-create innovative ideas and share best practice.
Says Annet Eijkelkamp, Director Global Community Impact EMEA, Employee Engagement & Global Partnership Lead One Young World, “We are delighted that so many young leaders applied for the J&J OYW Scholarship Program and we look forward to welcoming the 12 scholar recipients to our J&J family. Since 2017, 20 scholars from across the globe, have taken part in the J&J OYW program and have joined our growing alumni network, where they continue to co-create innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing health issues.”
Application for the 2019 J&J OYW Program closed on 6 May and One Young World has now begun the selection process based on pre-determined criteria. The name of the final 12 scholar recipients will be announced at the end of July. (Note: J&J is not involved in the selection process).
